$CMTG, $1.8523. According to PennyGems App stock analysis the PennyGems App screenshot supplied for CMTG shows $1.85 and a displayed 66.67% gain. The clearest company-specific news to examine is Claros Mortgage Trust’s November 3, 2026 quarterly report. Its balance-sheet cleanup offers a plausible reason for renewed interest, without proving the cause of the entire move.
Less debt, fewer problem loans
Claros resolved four loans totaling $409.5 million in unpaid principal during the third quarter, through repayments, a loan sale and a discounted payoff. Outstanding financing declined by $330.1 million. No additional loans entered its watchlist or non-accrual status during the period.
For a stressed property lender, reducing financing can matter even before earnings recover: it reduces the obligations that must be supported by a troubled asset pool. But loan principal resolved is not equivalent to profit or cash recovered at face value.
The cleanup remains unfinished
Claros reported a $14.3 million GAAP net loss and a $12.1 million non-GAAP distributable loss. It still had $1.1 billion of watchlist loans by carrying value at September 30.
The investment debate therefore turns on recovery values and future losses, not simply the size of the rally. Investors should watch whether disposals preserve value and whether recurring earnings improve as the portfolio shrinks.
