A biotech stock more than tripled, an energy-storage company announced a potential $300 million deal, and even Krispy Kreme joined the stock-market rally. But behind each big green number is a very different story.

A PennyGems screenshot showed Lakewood-Amedex Biotherapeutics (LABT) up approximately 256%, Elong Power (ELPW) up 61%, Aemetis (AMTX) up 49%, and Krispy Kreme (DNUT) up 30%. These figures can change quickly, especially during volatile trading.

Lakewood-Amedex, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, announced that it had redeemed all its remaining Series C convertible preferred shares for approximately $1.27 million in cash.

Convertible preferred shares can potentially become common shares, increasing the number of shares outstanding. Redeeming this particular security removes that specific source of potential dilution, though it does not eliminate the possibility of future financing or dilution. The company also used cash to complete the transaction.

The announcement coincided with the largest jump in the screenshot. It is a financing development, not a new drug approval or clinical-trial result. Elong Power said its subsidiary entered a three-year energy-storage equipment cooperation agreement with an anticipated procurement value of at least RMB 2 billion, approximately $300 million by the company’s estimate.

That is a striking number for investors looking for growth in energy storage. But an agreement is not the same as revenue already collected. The company said the first separate purchase contract was expected in January 2027, so investors will need to watch for actual orders, deliveries and payments. Quiver Quantitative Aemetis third-quarter earnings report displayed in PennyGems

Renewable-fuels company Aemetis reported third-quarter revenue of $88.2 million and net income of $5.2 million, compared with a loss in the year-earlier quarter.

There is an important detail behind the turnaround: revenue included $24.7 million in Section 45Z clean-fuel tax-credit income. The company’s quarterly filing says roughly $11 million was a cumulative adjustment covering the first half of 2026. That means investors should be careful about treating the entire quarter’s result as a recurring run rate. DNUT: Krispy Kreme raises its outlook

Krispy Kreme gave investors a sweeter outlook, raising its full-year revenue forecast to $1.35 billion–$1.40 billion from $1.25 billion–$1.35 billion.

The company’s turnaround is still a work in progress: third-quarter revenue declined from the previous year, and it reported a net loss. A higher forecast is encouraging, but it does not mean every problem has disappeared. What investors should watch

A large percentage gain does not tell the whole story. LABT’s news concerns a financing instrument; ELPW’s deal still needs execution; AMTX’s profit benefited from tax credits; and Krispy Kreme is working through a turnaround. News may help explain interest in a stock, but it cannot establish exactly why every trader bought or sold.

Small and volatile stocks can reverse quickly, and a screenshot is not a live quote. Check current prices, filings, trading volume and your own risk tolerance before making a decision.
